Photos: Middle School Art Murals
Middle school students from eleven different schools painted Bermuda’s longest urban public art exhibit on Pitts Bay Road for a chance to win $12,000 in school prizes as a result of a painting challenge conducted this spring in all middle schools by The Green Family and Berco Ltd, with coordination from the Masterworks Museum of Bermuda Art. The theme of the murals was “Bermuda, My Home”, with students designing the murals themselves, depicting aspects of their daily lives.
The painting began in April 2010, with 11 schools in total taking part over a three days period; Bermuda High School For Girls, Clearwater, Dellwood, The Education Centre, Learning Express Academy, Mount Saint Agnes Academy, Saltus, Sandys, Somersfield Academy, T. N.Tatem and The Whitney Institute.
