Two Men Charged With Last Month’s Shooting

October 18, 2010

This morning [Oct 18] two men appeared in Magistrates Court charged in relation to the shooting of 29-year-old David Godwin last month. 23-year-old Jah’mico Jamal Trott and 22-year-old footballer Dunn-ya Taylor were charged with attempting to murder Mr. Godwin.

Mr. Taylor alone was also charged with using a firearm, and Mr Trott is charged with being in possession of a firearm.

They were brought in amidst a heavy Police presence, with the Police blocking the road, and armed Police visible. One of the suspects, Mr Taylor, used a coat to shield his face from the media and the crowd of onlookers.

Jah’mico sure is a classy guy, judging from his Facebook page.
We’ve been lax on gun crime for too long, I hope they both get the maximum sentence.

  2. Mixitup says:

Just throwing their lives away! For what? Foolishness. Parents you MUST teach your children from young that there are consequences for doing wrong, you MUST hold them accountable from an early age so when they get to this age they can use their experience to make the right choices!

  3. Brasco says:

Retards!!…All For The Love Of Their Ace Boys…and you know how it goes, Mamma will be there and not the Acy Boys when they need a shoulder to cry on when they get sentenced…..

Come On Gay-ngsters!…Stop The Ace Boy Lovin…Turn Your Brains On!!!!

  4. Brown Girl says:

Innocent until prove guilty! Just because a person is charged with a crime does not make them guilty of that crime; lets look at all the evidence and than make a decision based on that!…Turn your Brains on!!!!!!!!!

    • D says:

      I agree!!!

People in Bermuda are too angry to notice the difference.

The other problem is that when they are accused, often the only way to prove that you are innoncent is to name the people that actually did it. Doing that is signing your life away, or the life of a loved one.

If witnesses were actually protected we would not be so afraid to talk to the police. There is no such thing as an anonymous phone call either. In Canada, a witness was killed after making an anonymous tip, cause the criminals had an inside man working for Bell Aliant (the phone company).

      • Miss B says:

I agree with the whole witness protection program, but if you witnessed a member of your family being shot, I guarantee you will NOT hesitate to tell the police who it was if you saw them. You people need to wake up and realize that you were put in this world for a purpose, do unto others as you would have them do unto you. You would rather allow someone the freedom of shooting at another individual than to risk your own life. That’s what is wrong with this world today, people are so self-centered and concerned of their own well-being than they are of the next person. Bermuda used to be a village raised by all, but things have changed because people let their OWN children get out of hand. It’s all about how you raise your child and the standards and morals you set. If you allow these WANNA-BE gangsters their freedom, you are only creating turmoil within the next generation that they raise, and with the lack of standards they have now, that will only create an even WORSE Bermuda. There are many people being killed in Bermuda and the motive is invalid. But I guess you people don’t look at the long-term consequences until one of your family members are shot or killed! So what would you rather do, give information to the police or risk your own family member being the next victim by the individual that you let free because of pride or fear????????? GO FIGURE!

STOP S###CHIN U DUMB BROAD!!!! I COULD WITNESS MY MOTHER GET SHOT, I’LL PUT MY LIFE ON IT DAT I SAY NUFFIN TO DA ##### PIGZ (edited) !! & FURTHERMORE…. DEFINE A “GANGSTA” U DUMB ###…, ALL U DOPEY BERMUDIANS LOOKIN FROM OUTSIDE IN SHUT DA #### UP

          • Miss B says:

Well poor you, your mentality clearly depicts the life you live right now! I hope you don’t have any children, if you do, I feel VERY SORRY for them!

  5. Miss B says:

Brown Girl get over your absent-minded self. You probaby know full well they are GUILTY. The whole Parkside thing is over-rated, and so are the groupies that follow them and encourage their behaviors! i bet if a relative of yours was shot it would be a different story. The sad thing is, if they aren’t guilty they sure aren’t man enough to call names of the people who are!

  6. margaret says:

there are pictures of Mr Trott on his Facebook page with him and his ‘friends’ allegedly making the sign for ‘Parkside’, as well as an outright post that says “Parkside!”. So give me a break Brown Girl.

  7. Uncle Ruckus says:

Why do they allow these criminals to cover their faces with jackets? You man enough to try and take someones life man up and show your face.

    • Uncle Ruckus says:

Wow his eyebrows are perfectly shaped and arched…wonder who does them for him like that? Gaynsters?

      • Uncle Ruckus says:

Also if you are going to be a thug don’t have a facebook. Especially one of you with all your other buddies throwing up your gangs and imitating a gun with your hands. It just makes it that much easier to pinpoint your gang associations and all that stuff. Can’t even be a gangsta right.

  8. Curious says:

Brown girl go on FB and see his post in April says and I quote “my click bad, my click hood, my click strapped up now ya’ll niggaz shook:)” These alleged gangsters need to go back to gangster school because they didn’t teach them well throwing their business up on the internet so we can all see what type of “good living” their making. He can’t deny it’s all out their for us to see.

  9. Brasco says:

Brown Girl…Turn Your Brain On Please…this switch is in the back of your head…..I hope you’re not one of the Groupies that love Gayngsters like this???

Yeah, why they covering their faces….COWARDS IN REAL LIFE!!!!!

  10. True Dat says:

Ahhahahhahahaaaaaahhhhhaha!!!! LMFAO!!! YALL ARE KILLING ME!!!!

  11. Ugly Truth says:

riight.. most these boys got no parents to learn from and u say gay ace boy love.. f#ck off wit that sh#t ace boys are brothers. someone takes ur brother yea u jus gonna do nothing.. whos the real cowards. every one commenting hasnt’ seen a bit of reality. they jus judge

  12. M.o.B says:

DAT N##GA (name edit) IZ A F####OT LOLOL …………….TRU STORY

  13. Peace and Love says:

I am going to comment on this against my better judgement because I know someone is going to respond with a “crock of S&*T” if we are not on the same page. To “Miss B” what you are proposing is easier said than done…It’s easy to say come forward and report and thus and so, but in reality it does not work like that..A couple of people who were witnesses to crimes here in Bermuda are now DEAD!!! Yes, while they may have gotten the guilty party incarcerated..that party has friends that are not incarcerated so the cycle continues, In the line of work that I do I have talked to people who’s homes have been shot at (and this is recently) that are afraid to report it..why? because the last time that they did further attacks occurred..So they now choose to keep quiet…and although the Police can’t be everywhere I will not even get into some of their reponses to the incidents…My next biggest wish next to world peace of course, is that people understand that what is occurring is not simply “black and white” it’s so deep..I mean really deep…and in my line of work I get to delve in it a bit..but even what I am privy to,there’s so much more!! If YOU feel that you can come forward and divulge information than so be it! but you must respect others fear and what holds them back from coming forward and believe me when I tell you there is no such thing as giving information anonymously! There is always a way in this day and age of technology for someone to find out who you are..

  14. enough says:

Hmmmm u guys are in the streets killing each other and u want to call the law abiding Bermudians dopey?! And don’t give that trash about most have no parents! Most of them have at least one parent who raised them.
If u chose to live a life of crime and associate with gangs then expect certain consequences! The real sad truth is that God didn’t create any of them to be out there acting like animals! I’m certain that God destined some of them to be doctors, lawyers, preachers, policeman, teachers, businessmen, politicians etc. But instead, they have used their free will to chooose death n destruction! For some, their choices will find them in a body bag and then standing before their maker with no excuse and no more time to repent! I’ll let u figure out how the meeting with their maker will end!

  15. Brown Girl says:

Until u have walked a mile in my shoes don’t assume anything about me because a close relative of mine was killed by a member of Parkside

Bcause someone has something written or posted on their FB page i.e. Parkside doesn’t make them guilty of murder

The real cowards are those people who will slam others online and say things like “turn your brain on the switch is in the back” or assume a person is a “groupie” when all I’m talking about is due process to not assume a person is guilty of a crime just by association

  16. Hope says:

I know these two young men personally and it doesnt suprise me at all.like the saying “its easy to do bad then good”goes to show you because of their background and how they were raised and their enviorment is a result of why they are in this situation. If we as christians can look on the bright side and just hope that by them going to jail it will give them time to think and change their life around for the better of themselves and for the families of all the men who lost their lives to this gang violence.

    Just have hope

  17. DISGUSTED says:

I would be easier to have hope if they had decent counselling and rehab up that hotel/prison they have up there…

  18. mix up says:

Mr. Trott has the jacket over his head, not Mr. Taylor..

Mr. Taylor has on the white shirt.
