The first Harbour Nights of 2011 kicked off last night [May 18], as Front Street was closed to vehicular traffic, and the street came alive with crowds, street vendors, entertainment and more.

Dozens of vendors and entertainment was on offer; food vendors, face painting, live music, gombeys and more. This year Harbour Nights will run every Wednesday night until August 31st from 7:00 -10:00pm.

Previously Harbour Nights ran for 24 weeks, however due to budget cuts this year it will span only 16 weeks. Sponsors for this year are Department of Cultural Affairs, City of Hamilton, BELCO, Goslings, Pickled Onion, Hog Penny, Flanagan’s, and Muse.

As one of the vendors I am very grateful for this coverage! Thanks Bernews!
I also want to encourage locals to come out- even if you are not interested in or can’t afford to buy the stuff on hand, your presence helps to make the tourists feel like it is truly and “event”, and you will get a chance to see other Bermudians you haven’t seen for years! The entertainment is great as well, and you don’t have to pay for it!
Come out and see what is going on!
