Three Remanded: Alleged Grievous Bodily Harm

June 10, 2011

Three men appeared in Magistrates Court this morning [June 10] in relation to the altercation at Snorkel Park which resulted in a cruise ship worker being hospitalized.

Magistrate Archie Warner, dealing with the three men charged with causing grievous bodily harm to two male cruise ship workers, remanded all three in custody until a hearing on 24th June. Since the offence is indictable, none of the three were required to plead. The alleged offence was said to have occurred on 7th June.

The first of the three was 21 year-old Joshua Kent Tweed. The second man charged was 24 year-old Antoine Bean. The third was 21 year-old Cordova Marshall. All three are from Sandy’s.

Lawyer Marc Daniels represented Mr Marshall and Mr Bean. Mr Tweed was unrepresented.

In applying for bail, Mr Daniels said that the parents of both his clients were in Court today and were prepared to put up Sureties for each of his clients. Mr Daniels indicated to the Magistrate that the same promise of a Surety applied to Mr Tweed.

how do we stop these gangsters from doing what they want? The ships can’t be happy, these idiots are going to ruin it for everyone.

  4. The Messenger says:

Mr. Tweed seems to be making the news a lot this week. 21 years old, he has time to turn himself around and get it together. Don’t let dumb decisions early in life determine your future.

    • simplepassa says:

WTF are you talking about, hes only been making the news because of THIS situation, all the other bullsh*t bernews brought up was just to have ANOTHER story. You dont know Joshua or the person he is, and YOU dont know the TRUTH, you go by what a story tells you. Hes got his life under control,

      • The Messenger says:

Huh? Did I say anything bad about the guy? And furthermore he has indeed made the paper twice in a week. If his life was so under control then He would not be no stories about him on news media.

Clearly you are another friend/family member that quickly jumps to a person’s defense rather than allowing Tweed to understand and deal with the issues he may have. I’m sure he is a better person than you are.

        Piece of Advice:

Having a choice is a liberty. Some choices come with consequences. I’d recommend:

Be slow to speak, slow to anger and quick to listen.

  9. Real Talk says:

Why is is that when someone is charged in Bermuda all the rumor whores are quick to gossip and presume guilt before innocence anybody with a hint of common sense will know that presuming guilt first any serves to make matters worse and promote negativity small things amuse small minds

  10. Real Talk says:

Judging by some of these comments the authors are silly and childish in thier thinking Bermuda is in need of people who can think on a positive and mature level not people who love gossip promote negativity and are ignorant

  11. LICKS IS TRUMPS... says:

Don’t allow anybody to come here and whoop on you . Handle your business , because if you don’t , the next time might be your last .

  12. Stupid does stupid says:

I remember the days when we thought changes in tax law might ruin Bermuda, or competition from other island destinations. Never thought it would be a few dozen uneducated idiots who would ruin do it.

  13. Um Um like you know says:

Thanks, there’s yet another reason not to go out at night. Keep it up Gangstahs, you’ll get rid every one soon enough and then have Bda all to yourselves.

Your 3rd world status is ensured.

  14. Never Satisfied says:

I’m not saying that guys was wrong for attacking the ship worker. People always need to realize that some of them Tourist / Ship Workers go on BAD as if they are in their own Country.

On the Flip side, Guys need to stop letting ppl like that get the best of them. Snorkle Park is YOUR Get away to RELAX , its your AREA.. Your Country, You have the RIGHT To tell the BOUNCERS !! Get those who are acting up OUT !! and BLAM ! Get along with ya night..

Note : 1. The ships have been telling the Passengers don’t even go out at night, especially at S.Park.
    2. The Ships have no been telling the Passenegers / Workers They have a NIGHT CURFEW !!

SMH !! ONLY IN BERMUDA !!!!!!!!!

  15. FYI--Just A Thought says:

Okay.. Let’s be real, rumour mill or not, Bernews or any other media would not be reporting this story or any other if some factions of it were not true. Furthermore, the point of these articles are to be 1) informative and then the latter. If they tend to be objective it is merely because individuals have a difference of opinions. A freedom and liberty.

    And SMH @ simplepassa.

You fool me once shame on you, you fool me twice shame on me.

And on a side note: I for the life of me can’t understand why parents are offering surities and bail for their children. I feared my parents and the thought of bringing public humiliation to my family name or even having to face them. I’d probaby vow to stay in prison b/c I knew mi fada woulda cut mi backside.
