Mr. Truran continued: “I have had the opportunity to be with the Bank since it was licensed on October 4, 2001. Our evolution and growth over that period has been tremendous with the expansion into full banking services including retail, commercial and private banking as well as wealth management services including investments and trusts.”
“Our growth has not only been organic by attracting new customers to the Bank, but also through the strategic amalgamation with KAST and First Bermuda Group and the most recent acquisition of Orion.”
The Gibbons family arrived in Bermuda in the 1620’s, however Capital G’s family began in the 1910s with patriarch Edmund Gibbons establishing the family’s flagship enterprise. Sir David Gibbons pioneered the development and expansion of the core business and oversaw its evolution into a multi-national enterprise.
Capital G Bank was created out of the Gibbons Company retail store which offered Depositors Accounts beginning in January 1975, and was granted its banking license on October 4, 2001.
As a full service bank Capital G now holds more than $1B in deposits, nearly $1B in assets under management, services 20,000 plus clients and employs a workforce of 220 people.
