Video: Fire At Riddell’s Bay Golf Club

November 19, 2011

Late last night [Nov.18] there was a fire on the grounds of the Riddell’s Bay Golf & Country Club in Warwick, which saw smoke pour out into the night sky.

There did not appear to be anyone injured or any damage sustained to the property. When we arrived at 11.45pm, there were three fire trucks, one police car, and approximately ten firefighters on scene who were working to contain the blaze.

This is the second fire at Riddell’s Bay this year, following a brush fire in March 2011.

They are at it again when will people get the hint that this is deliberate as they dont want to pay the cost of trucking the material to the dump. The management appears to be well aware this happens by mistake to often and the neighbours are tired of it as it is not good for breathing try living in the area.

I don’t live too far from Riddles Bay GC and I too, am tired of the smoke from their unnecessary fires, whether started by RB themselves or by some little punks! Maybe their needs to be some new legislation that burning debris, etc., is against the law. Last week, some absolute fool on Harbour Road, Warwick had lit a fire and apparently invited all his foolish family and friends to attend. The flames were higher than the casaurina trees and the sparks were flying everywhere. There were kids screaming with delight! I don’t even think the property has a house on it. I bet not one person complained. You know why, because the police nor the fire department do anything about it hence the reason why these idiots still do it!!!!!!!

Soooo the Fire Dep shows up pours a load of water onto the fire creating even more smoke. As long as the material is not green you might as well let burn hot, burn clean & be finished with.

People forget the days when everyone had an oil drum in the backyard for burning trash.

Burning horticultural waste smells nice. Sort of like a campfire.

Its not the first time the fools on Harbour Road have had “bonfires” and people complained about it before. As I said, people stop complaining because nothing’s ever done hence the reason why it should be outlawed! @Triangle Drifter – I hope you don’t have to experience smoke and ashes blowing at your house for hours on end. I have animals outside who don’t deserve to be surrounded by smoke and ash! No one’s forgotten about the old days. People these days however, don’t burn JUST horticulture waste! I guess you’re one of those idiots who doesn’t give a damn about your neighbors!
