Drug Case: Million Dollar Bail Remains

December 23, 2011

46-year-old Shannon Forth, who was granted bail of one million dollars on 9th December, returned to Magistrates Court this morning [Dec.23] with his lawyer Elizabeth Christopher seeking to have his bail reduced.

Mr Forth had been charged with the offences of importing diamorphine [heroin] and of possessing a quantity of diamorphine with intent to supply. The drugs are said to have a street value of just over $1,400,000.

The offence was alleged to have occurred on 6th December at the LFW Airport when Mr Forth, a Bermuda resident, arrived on a flight from Canada.

Ms Christopher said that Mr Forth was willing to wear a ‘bracelet’ [an Electronic Monitoring Device] and also report daily to a Police Station.

However, Senior Magistrate Archie Warner ruled that the $1 million bail would not be varied. If Mr Forth is unable to make bail, he will remain in custody until Leap Year day 29th February 2012, when he re-appears for a Long Form Preliminary Inquiry.

And happy new years resolution to “those of you that keep heroin dealers in business”; if “you” don’t use it, they won’t be able to sell it ;-)

  2. Cassy says:

No, dont lower his bail. This man is charged with smuggling one of the most dangerous drugs to this island with intent to supply. Lock his ars up til God comes back. So he can have his final judgement.

  3. Enforcer says:

Bail, thats ridiculous, I agree this island is in a bad way because of drugs, have no mercy.
