Guilty: $400k Drug Importation Case

December 1, 2011

In this morning’s [Dec.1] Supreme Court Monthly Arraignments two American women admitted conspiring to import over $400,000 worth of drugs into Bermuda.

The initial charge was that between a date unknown and 8th October 2011, 23-year-old Alloah Releford and 28-year-old Latoya Powell conspired with others not before the Courts to import a quantity of cannabis resin into Bermuda.

The Court was previously told that two women had arrived in Bermuda as passengers on a cruise ship, and the drugs were found strapped to the women’s bodies and that the total weight was 2.7 kgs [6lbs], with a street value said to be just over $400,000.

The women will be sentenced at a later date, and were remanded in custody.

    • Tommy Chong says:

Netherlands don’t need it cause they’ve got better that’s checked & sanctioned by the dutch police. Also they don’t want resin that’s most likely cut & stretched with petroleum tar because of prohibition & illegal drug dealers who are ignorant or don’t care about poisoning their customers. Besides dutch coffee shops will become locals only by next year so they will have to cut back on their stocks. A better idea is that Bermuda opens cannabis cafés & pick up the 3 MILLION EURO a year loss that Holland will have when tourist stop visiting there next year. We could use the 3 MILLION to cover our debt & at the same time take away a chunk of the profits gangs in Bermuda make. That’s if the people of Bermuda want to stop the gangsters from making a profit even though it might take away from sales of cars, gold chains & LV Bags for baby mamas.

  6. Tommy Chong says:

Why is it that cannabis importation seizures happen more often in Bermuda than importation seizures of cocaine, heroin and ecstasy? Is there less cocaine, heroin and ecstasy being sold in Bermuda than herb?

  7. are you ppl serz says:

@ Tommy Chong no the fact is that heron cocaine and extasy has less smell then herb..Also the other drugs are way more profitable, therefor dealers can bring in less. Also those other drugs are easier to conceal.
