Cycling: Shelly Bay Time Trial Results

The Bermuda Bicycle Association’s Road Race Season began on Sunday [Mar.18] with the Shelly Bay Time Trial that attracted 93 participants to the first event of the season.

The Shelly Bay race saw the riders complete a 10 Mile Individual Time Trial, the numbers of registered riders suggests that the growth in the sport of cycling locally has continued from the record turnout for BBA events in 2011.

Winning the event was Junior Male Athlete of the Year Dominique Mayho from team Madison. The 18 year old Mayho finished in 22:20.395 seconds, a mere 4 seconds behind the course record set in 2008 by Tyler Butterfield.

Darren Glasford from Winners Edge finished second with a time of 23:56.562, while Neil De Ste Criox from Fast Forward Bicycle Works finished third clocking 23:59.282.

Alyssa Rowse set a new 11 – 12 Female Course Record when she crossed the line in 32:34.101, while in the 6.8 Mile 10 and Under Circuit Nicholas Pilgrim from Fast Forward Bicycle Works recorded the fastest time of 23:20.293.
