Police ID Accident Victim: Dr Joseph Footitt
The Bermuda Police have identified the man killed in a road traffic accident on Wednesday [June 13], as 37 year old Dr Joseph Footitt of London U.K.
A police spokesperson said. “The Bermuda Police Service can now confirm the death of 37 year old Joseph Footitt. Mr. Footitt, a visitor from London U.K., was pronounced dead at King Edward VII Memorial Hospital on Wednesday, June 13th after the rental cycle he was riding collided with a car around 3:35pm that day along Harbour Road in Paget near the junction with Manse Road.
“His 36 year old wife and pillion passenger, also from London U.K., was treated at the hospital for minor injuries and later released. There were no other injuries reported.
“The investigation into this fatal collision is ongoing and any witnesses are asked to contact PC James Eli at the Roads Policing Unit on 295-0011. The Bermuda Police Service extends condolences to Mr. Footitt’s wife, family & friends.”
The death of Dr Joseph Footitt — who worked as a physician in the UK — marks the second road fatality for 2012.
