Two Men Plead Guilty To Stealing Electronics

September 17, 2012

Devon Lee Foggo, 41, and Sherman Armstrong, 48, together pleaded guilty to a single charge of stealing two Sony DVD players and a portable DVD player from Price Rite in Mill’s Creek on 7th September 2012. The items had a total value of over $300.

Giving the facts in Magistrates Court this past Friday [Sept 14], the Prosecutor told the Senior Magistrate that the actions of the two men had been caught on the store’s CCTV and that Police had been called.

After reviewing the tapes, Police had picked up Mr Armstrong on 12th September and had then collected Mr Foggo on 13th September. On Police interview, both men admitted their actions.

As well, Mr Armstrong was wearing a Court ordered EMD whose GPS locator placed him in the Price-Rite store at the same time that the CCTV actually showed him there.

The Crown Prosecutor said that both men said they had substance abuse problems and wanted help. Before deciding on disposition, the Senior Magistrate was told that both men had extensive criminal records. Both men must re-appear on 18th September 2012 for sentence.

The Senior Magistrate remanded Mr Foggo into custody and granted Mr Armstrong bail of $2,000 with one surety.
