Visitor: Bermuda Shorts Nearly Caused Accidents
“I was on my pink scooter in search of food, but I kept looking at men and having near accidents,” writes Cheryl Blackerby for the Palm Beach Daily News. She said it’s “only natural that I would look at guys, but usually I’m not risking life and limb to do it.”
“From the waist up, the bankers and businessmen wore conservative business attire, black or dark grey jackets, ties and crisp white shirts. From the waist down, let’s just say it looked as if they left the house in a big hurry,” she writes.
“In lieu of black trousers, they wore shorts stopping just above the knees, thin black knee-socks and black dress shoes. The shorts were pastel colors — pale pinks, light yellows, sky blues.
“At first and second glance, they appeared to be walking down the street in their boxers. In Bermuda, women have the rare opportunity to check out gentlemen’s legs in the workplace,” said Ms Blackerby.

after reading this I’m seriously considering lifting my self imposed ban on wearing pink shorts
Real men don’t wear pink!
A little bit insecure are you .. nothing at all wrong with men wearing Bermuda Shorts in pink, lime green, baby blue or any other colour that they feel like.
you wouldn’t know what a real man is because you’re a fairy in pantiehose
Real women love men who wear pink
That is a lie…..they do!!! It the thing today.
Too funny! nothing better than a fine guy in Bermuda shorts
I was in a wedding in the UK for a buddy. We wore Bermuda Shorts, knee socks, blazers etc. We absolutely stole the show.
I told a few of the women I met that all Bermudian men who wish to wear Bermuda Shorts have to have their knees certified by the Bermuda Government as the shorts are our National Dress. I told her that exposing our knees as we do is akin to flying the Bermuda Flag … She believed me
lol! Cute : )
Thank you Bernews for my morning smile!!!
There’s no news like “good” news. Something positive for a change.
I love my Bermuda shorts, but I’m too conservative for PINK!!!
I wore a business jacket, shirt, tie , and Bermuda shorts with knee socks to a high school graduation in Pottsville Pennsylvania in 1981. Caused a stirr. Should have had a blazer with the Bermuda Crest on it. That would have topped it off.
Years ago I did a big tourism trade show in Boston in February. There happened to be a big snowstorm. The national dress of blazer, Bermuda tie, Bermuda shorts (any colour), knee socks & docksiders was worn.
Taking a break from booth duty & walking around the show one might as well have been carrying a huge Bermuda banner. Everyone knew where we were from in those shorts etc.
No problem wearing pink here. If there is a national colour it would be pink, for the pink sand that we promote. I love pink. Had pink brochures for my business, because everyone else had blue. Mine stood out. Even had a pink vehicle for many years.
I really think this ia a great look for guys! Just a shame I don’t see it more often outside places like Bermuda. Is it possible some guys would wear shorter shorts? Like mid thigh? It must be quite hot to wear them when they are just above the knee…
If they were mid thigh that would put the crotch BELOW the leg bottom with todays so-called ‘style’.
I have worn Pink Bermuda shorts in various places in the World,
ONLY once did someone ever say something out of place,
he wont ever say anything like that agian!
he failed to understand what a REAL MAN is capable of.
I think guys in Bermuda shorts with a jacket and tie look sharp.
haha this is hilarious!
The real danger on Front St are the women in the short shorts & short skirts on bikes.
Please don’t stop. I have not crashed yet but can’t begin to count the close cslls.
I have always loved bermuda shorts…..back in my day they use to measure them to make they leagal !!
