Video: Visitor Uploads Footage Of Scooter Crash

May 27, 2013

A visitor to the island has uploaded a YouTube clip of his aunt crashing a rental cycle into a wall —  fortunately the woman emerges from the incident relatively unscathed except for an unhappy souvenir of her Bermuda vacation in the form of road rash.

YouTuber “ZZgamer123″ uploaded the video and the description said, “My Aunt asked my Dad to let her drive his Bermuda scooter so he gave her a safety lesson but she kinda forgot what he told her when she stopped and it didn’t go so good but she did get her wish and got to ride one! Please forgive my mom’s potty mouth as she says some real bad words but when you watch you will understand why.”

TYPICAL Yank!…sets a bad example by riding with NO Helmet and top on.

    • Oh by the way, the girl on the scooter is not a “yank”, a true Canadian. And she loved Bermuda.

  10. S.T. says:

The video should be shown to every tourist as an example of WHAT NOT TO DO.

NEVER get of your cycle when you are attempting to turn a cycle, and do not get off the cycle when giving it gas.

  11. Miami Dolphin says:

    Swizzle Swagger…!!! lol

  12. Theresa Simpson says:

Just glad she is okay….a little road rash but glad it was not worse…

  13. One thing that concerns me greatly and I have over the years said it to every local cycle rental place, these tourist are taught to ride the cycle and you always see them holding the left brake.

Even though they may have their reasons for teaching them this way, I was always taught to utilize both brakes at the same time and then you have those that only use the right brake but turn the gas throttle at the same time as trying to apply the brake.

so the advantage of using both brakes gives the rider more control over the bike, thankfully the lady was not thrushed head on to the wall with such an impact that could have broken her neck.

So there is nothing funny about her injuries or the fright she must have felt and at her age she could have had a heart attack and died, some people will laugh at the darness things.she is safe is what matters most

    • john says:

Agreed! I didn’t see anything funny about a woman dragged by a motorbike into a wall

  14. ggurl says:

    A lesson learned !

  17. WTF says:

    Jeeeeeeeeeez she took a deck!

  18. What a TROOPER! says:

Oh Lord this poor woman. Im glad she wasn’t badly hurt, but I wish we can subsitute the scooter with something else. I see many countries renting out the 3-wheeled motor scooters. A little more manageable if your not use to these road and riding a motorbike. Or Like most countries, international qualifications from welcomed countries would allow you to get on one of these things. But glad she is okay!

god you ppl dont see the humor in anything. If the lady was so upset do you think she would let them post it sheesh

  23. Muslima says:

    thank you lololololololol!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  24. Bermewjan says:

This is exactly the reason why we need stronger legislation regarding the rental of motorcycles on this island. If a person does not arrive on the island with a valid motorcycle license they should not be allowed to rent one. Bermuda is not the place to learn how to ride a motor or auxilliary cycle while on holiday.

If anything we should introduce the rental of two seater cars – which would mean that taxis are still required for parties of greater than two people – like the Smart Car. At least our visitors will be more likely to be able to drive a car and should be able to meet the valid license rule I mention above.

I have never understood why we find the injury of our tourists as acceptable, never mind amusing!

  25. Boss Lady says:

Tourist need bikes with 3 wheels. They’re out there… Get em’ and keep em’ safe. Poor sight.

  26. Lmfao ! says:

Come on guys have a sense of humor 3-/ at least she is ok calm down take a shot n laugh (y)

  27. Bermudican says:

i think letting tourist rent cycles is ok idea however , the pathways of Bermuda are far different from roads overseas where you can travel in straight lines for hours at 90 miles an hr with traffic only going in one direction on that double lane with Emergency lane and island divider lanes.
i have seen tourists scrap out at 3 miles and hr.
for them it is traumatic . they are freaked . thats why i suggested taking the golf course and turning it into a drunk driving park ,,then folks could go rent a car with a govenor and heavy bumpers get smashed at the bar go out and drive safely on the grounds with rubber bustop posts and benches pots signs and stuffed polyehelene pedestrians waiting at the “Bus stops” and basically have fun driving over the curbs and running over things and bumping their “Cars” together like at Disney land…

then when they have had enuff fun a taxi takes them home.
