Katherine Arnfield was crowned the new Miss Bermuda last night [June 23], beating out six other competitors for the title. The 17-year-old will be heading to Indonesia next month to represent the island in the Miss World Pageant.
Miss Hamilton Parish Echaunti Swan was the first runner up, Miss Pembroke Chelzea Somner was the second runner up, Miss Southampton Denae Simmons was the third runner up, while Miss Warwick Alexandra McMartin was the fourth runner up.

Miss Arnfield, a Saltus Grammar School student, has been on the school’s Honour Roll and received awards in swimming and dancing. The 17-year-old models locally, and also spends time doing volunteer work. Read her profile here.
Speaking after the Pageant, Miss Arnfield said she will cherish every moment of being Miss Bermuda, and that she feels “truly blessed.”
Miss Arnfield was also the People’s Choice winner, Miss Hamilton Parish Echaunti Swan scooped up both the Miss Congeniality and Miss Hospitality titles, and Miss Southampton Denae Simmons won the Miss Photogenic title.
The evening got underway with the contestants performing a dance wearing matching black dresses, and the contestants then introduced themselves and the parish they were representing.
The night was hosted by Nadanja Bailey and Patrina “PowerGirl” Paynter and included entertainment from Bermuda Bollywood Kids, DemBiez Productions, Cindy Smith, Sia Spence, Jonae Smith, United Dance Productions and Kion Simmons.
