Video: Motocross Club Donates To St John
The Bermuda Motocross Club hosted their final race day of the 2012/13 season on Sunday [June 16] and donated all proceeds of the ticket gate to the St John Ambulance to thank them for their service.
Motocross Club President Jonathan Trott was joined by a number of riders in presenting a $1500 check to St John Media Relations Officer Jeffrey Borges at the Southside Motorsports Park track.
“All year the St John Ambulance donate their time and resources to ensure our riders have adequate medical coverage in the event of an accident,” a Motocross Club spokesperson said. “The St John Ambulance crews are there for those times when medical assistance is needed.
“The BMC Executive were happy to donate the proceeds of this race day to assist the SJA with their fundraising efforts as a ‘thank you’ for their commitment and hard work they do tirelessly for the community, but specifically the Bermuda Motocross Club.”
Rider Rajae Whitter presents $1500 check to St John Media Relations Officer Jeffrey Borges:
St. John is a non-profit organization that relies on volunteer support and donations from the community to operate. They provide valuable medical instruction to the public, and also provide an ambulance service designed to cover public events.
The St John Ambulance organization will be holding tag days on Friday July 5th and on Saturday July 6th to help with their fundraising efforts.
A days race proceeds! Imagine what standby medical services would cost them if they had to actually pay the going rate for an ambulance & crew.
Sporting organizations get away dirt cheap with St Johns volunteers.
If you didn’t have anything positive to say, then perhaps you should have kept your comment to yourself. Motocross is a very expensive sport so don’t talk no trash about sports organizations get away dirt cheap. Maybe you can come pay $3000.00 every race day to groom our track for us.
OMG so now Sporting Organizations can’t have volunteers? TRIANGLE DRIFFTER YOU are a real … Idiot. Its the same as volunteering @ KEMH or @ the damn Aquarium cleaning animals sh** all day. Obvious the people who are doing volunteer work love what they do. Everything in this world is not about $$$ and everyone who thinks like you will find that out soon enough. A**wipe
