Man Admits Intruding On 15-Year-Old’s Privacy
Appearing in Magistrates Court this morning [Aug 27] 29 year old Robert Branco pleaded guilty to a charge of intruding on the privacy of a female.
After hearing the facts and after a short submission by lawyer Peter Farge, Senior Magistrate Archie Warner set 9th October for sentencing and required a Social Inquiry Report, as well as Psychiatric and Psychological reports.
Mr Branco, who had been put under house arrest by means of an Electronic Monitoring Device [ankle bracelet] was granted bail under the same conditions.
The facts read in were that in July 2013 at Harbour Nights, Mr Branco had approached the fifteen year girl who was with her male and female friends. Mr Branco lifted her up and put her down, asking how much she weighed. Three times he put his arm around her waist, and put his arm around her neck. She objected every time.
He gripped her bra strap and caused her to think that he would unsnap it. The girl ran into a Front Street shop and called her father who soon appeared and called the police.
Mr Branco was arrested that same night and picked out in an ID parade at the Police Station. Lawyer Peter Farge told the Magistrate that Mr Branco admitted that his behaviour was inappropriate and that he apologized for his behaviour.

Something is clearly wrong here! A person admits to groping and dominating (choke-hold) a 15 year old girl and gets bail with an ankle-bracelet. This dangerous pervert needs to be remanded until sentencing. Am I missing something in this situation. This is outrageous!!!
Something needs to be done to bring these judges’ judgements into line with the reasonable expectations of the law-abiding public. It is unreasonable to allow this man to enjoy the comforts of his home and surroundings after assaulting this young girl. It boggles the mind.

this is an unfortunate thing that happened. However Robert has a few medical problems that I am sure will come out soon, to the public! Not that i am defending him. He should be put up in Mauwi…. get the right medical attention he needs….

If he has psychological issues then he should stick to the regime of the “right medical attention” he has been given. For his own safety. There is a great risk that he is going to pull one of these stunts within ear-shot or line-of-sight of someone’s loved one and end up getting an extreme dose of the “wrong medical attention”.
I know no parent (or uncle or brother or …) that is going to pause to assess an assailant’s medical psychological state while their loved one is being assaulted. He could be seriously injured. If he does have medical psychological issues then his relatives really need to take his physical health into consideration and investigate what can be done differently to project him and the public.

I have a little four-year-old daughter. I am an overprotective father and I make no apologies for it. I get crazy even thinking of some s**t like this happening to my girl. I pray that nobody tries this because I really don’t want to go to prison.

This young man is not the monster everyone is making him out to be. He actually has a good heart and means well. He is desperate to find a girlfriend but due to his mental state goes about it in the wrong way. He needs to be corrected because what he did was wrong but we have to remember he was not fortunate enough to be born with 100% mental faculties to make right decisions. Remember that what happened to him to make him that way, didn’t happen to us. Beware of judging others because sometimes there is a lot more to the story.

Guy rides around apparently holds a permint to ride, know to stop at the stop light/sign, knows to give way, knows not to cross over into incoming traffic, ect. Seems some are willing to make excuses for him and he will ride it all the way to a suspended or probationary sentence. Get my drift he knows basic wrong from right, luckily it was no female relative of mine.Tha tha tha thats all folks…..
