Motorcyclist In Critical Condition After Collision

ambulance night generic aviA 23 year old man is listed in critical condition in the ICU following a collision involving a motorcycle and SUV early this morning [Nov 9] in Sandys.

A police spokesperson said, “Around 1:15am on Saturday, November 9th police and first responders attended a reported serious collision on Malabar Road in Sandys parish near the junction with Kitchener Road.

“It appears that a SUV was being driven along Malabar Road and a motorcycle was being ridden along the same road when the vehicles collided.

“The motorcycle rider, a 23 year old Sandys parish man, was injured and taken to King Edward VII Memorial Hospital via ambulance for treatment.

“At last check he was in the Intensive Care Unit in critical condition. There were no other injuries reported; however both vehicles were damaged, the motorcycle extensively.

“Inquiries into this collision are ongoing and any witnesses are encouraged to contact PC Gavin Richardson at the Somerset Police Station on 234-1010.”
