Tennis Pro Dr. Kovacs To Conduct Tennis Clinic
International Tennis Professional Dr. Mark Kovacs [pictured] will be in Bermuda this weekend conducting private coaching lessons to Bermuda’s elite tennis professionals and budding tennis players from the Junior Davis Cup team. Dr. Kovacs is being hosted by Coral Beach Club’s Tennis Director, James Collieson.
Tim Thuell, Managing Director for Coral Beach Club said, “Coral Beach Club has long been known for its highly developed tennis programs in Bermuda and internationally. This week we are fortunate to have someone of Dr. Kovacs skill and expertise in Bermuda.”
Dr. Kovacs is a renowned performance physiologist, researcher, university professor, author, speaker and coach with an extensive background training and researching athletes at all levels, including the NFL, NBA and MLB.
He serves the International Tennis Performance Association [iTPA] membership as its Executive Director. He formally directed the Sport Science, Strength & Conditioning and Coaching Education departments for the United States Tennis Association [USTA], and is a consultant for the Gatorade Sports Science Institute.
James Collieson, Tennis Director at Coral Beach said, “Dr. Kovacs will be helping the Davis Cup team prepare for their crucial competition in Puerto Rico next month, coordinate an adult clinic with Coral Beach members and guests, and train and evaluate Bermuda’s elite juniors. Dr. Kovacs is a highly specialize expert in his field, and we are very fortunate to build a working relationship with him.”
Dr. Kovacs will be conducting a special tennis clinic at Coral Beach Club on Sunday May 4th for Bermuda’s national select juniors between 9am – 12 noon.
