Central County: Western Stars Win Game #1

The 2014 Central County best of three match series got underway this weekend at the St. John’s Field, with Western Stars [217/8] edging out the Devonshire Recreation Club [216/7].

Batting first, Devonshire Recreation Club scored 216/7 in their allotted 50 overs. Lamar Caines was the top scorer with 53, while Oladapo Fredericks added 43.

Devonshire Recreation Club got a quick fire 29 off 17 balls that included 23 fours and 2 sixes from Freeman Lema, while Denar Johnson scored 27 off 8 balls, with 3 fours and 2 sixes.

Neon Steede was the pick of the Western Stars bowlers with figures of 6-0-37-3, while Seth Campbell bowled 10-1-16-1.

In reply Western Stars scored 217/8, with Temiko Wilson the top scorer with 76, Seion Darrell added 27 while Ryan Tyrell scored 25.

Dennis Williams was the pick of the Devonshire Recreation Club bowlers with figures of 10-0-41-2, while Durnell Smith bowled 10-0-54-2.
