Tennis: Bermuda Win Davis Cup Final Match

Bermuda’s Davis Cup team will leave Puerto Rico after taking part in the Davis Cup Americas Zone Group III Round Robin with a 2 & 2 record, having finished in third place after they defeated Jamaica 2 – 1.

Gavin Manders got things started defeating Daniel Harris in a match that took an hour and twenty-0three minutes in straight sets 7-5, 6-0.

David Thomas fell in a three setter to Dominic Pagon, this match took two hours and forty minutes to complete, Pagon won the first set 6-3, but Thomas would then win the next set 6-4, the third and final set would go to a tie-breaker with Pagon would win 7-6.

With the match even at 1-1, Neal Towlson and Jenson Bascome took to the court and took on Pagon and Brandon Burke, Towlson and Bascome defeated the Jamaican pair in one hour and ten minutes in straight sets 6-1, 6-2.
