Groundswell Lionfish Tournament On Saturday
The 2014 Groundswell Lionfish Tournament will be held on Saturday [July 19] with weigh in at the Bermuda Institute of Ocean Sciences [BIOS]. The tournament starts at sun up and weigh in is at 3pm.
The cost to enter the tournament is $25 and includes a free t-shirt. Registration deadline is 5pm on Friday July 18th and applications can be dropped off at Marine Locker. In the event of bad weather, the rain date is Sunday July 20th.
The public are invited to attend the free festivities from 2.30pm-8pm which include a lionfish handling and a preparation tutorial after the weigh in followed by free lionfish tasting and prizegiving. There will be a cash bar provided by Goslings along with live music and DJs.
