16 Year Old In Intensive Care After Assault
[Updated] A 16 year old male is in the Intensive Care Unit, in stable condition, after being assaulted by what the police said was a “lone assailant brandishing a blunt object” in the Ord Road Paget/Warwick area on Monday.
A police spokesperson said, “Around 6pm on Monday, September 8th police officers on mobile patrol received a report of an assault.
“Details regarding this incident are unclear at this time; however it appears that a 16 year old Warwick male was injured after apparently being involved in an altercation with a lone assailant brandishing a blunt object in the Ord Road Paget/Warwick area.
“At last check the teenager was at the hospital’s Intensive Care Unit in stable condition.
“Inquiries into this reported assault are ongoing and any witnesses or anyone with any information regarding this matter should contact the Criminal Investigation Unit on telephone number 247-1383 or 247-1429.”
Update Sept. 10, 2.28pm: The police have confirmed that a 31 year old Pembroke woman is currently in police custody in connection with this assault, and also noted that the teenager is now listed in critical condition. The full statement is here.

So was this a random thing or were the parties known to each other??? Did they get into an argument that escalated into violence or is some blunt object wielding nutcase on the loose? This was not the act of a teenager, let alone a boy. It was a grown woman with children of her own. All of this was over an argument which happened on the bus. This lady’s intent was malicious and diliberate – premeditated. The police need to have her off the streets immediately as this young man is now fighting for his life!!!!! He is no longer in stable condition. There is no justification for her actions and she needs to be made an example of! What sane mother would hurt someone’s child so severely?! SICK!
