BRFU Sees Men’s & Ladies Matches Played

The Bermuda Rugby Football Union saw action recently, with matches played in both the Ladies Touch and the Men’s Divisions resulting in four victories.

Ladies Touch Division

In the opening match, the Renegades Ladies defeated the Teachers Ladies 3 – 1. Jessica Cassidy scored 2 tries and Laura Holdsworth added the other for the Renegades Ladies, while the lone Teachers try came from Gillian Cross.

The Mariners Ladies then defeated the Police Ladies 6 – 1. Amanda Swan led the way for the Mariners Ladies with 3 tries, while Alexis Rawsons, Deneika Borden and Aleisha James all added a try each, the lone Police try came from Lareine Prinsloo.

Men’s Division

Minutes silence before the Renegades – Teachers game to observe the recent and untimely passing of Teachers and Bermuda legend Brian Toms, Renegades then went on to defeat the Teachers 29 – 21.

Jahan Cedenio led the way for the Renegades with 2 tries, while Tom Healy and Brian Archibold added a try each, with Brian Archibold kicking 3 Penalties. The Teachers got 2 tries from Stephen Edwards and a single try from Antonio Perinchief, with Tom Gregory kicking 3 conversions.

The Mariners then stepped on the field and defeated the Police 38 – 3, Rory Dublin scored two tries to lead the Mariners to victory, the Mariners also got tries from Chakote Wainwright, Steven Husbands, Dustin Archibold and David Rourke, while Rory Dublin kicked four conversions, the Police lone score on the board came when Ryan Murray kicked a penalty.
