Teammate Expects Wells To Excel In FA Cup

January 2, 2015

Sean Scannell, a Huddersfield Town teammate of striker Nahki Wells, says that he expects the Bermudian to shine during the club’s FA Cup match against Reading tomorrow [Jan 3], calling Wells “one of the best strikers in the league.”

A story in the UK’s Examiner says, “Sean Scannell is backing Huddersfield Town teammate Nahki Wells to make his mark in the FA Cup this season.

“The frontman, who is in line to face Reading in the third round at the John Smith’s Stadium, was a knockout star when former club Bradford City made it all the way to the League Cup final the season before last.

“Bermudian ace Wells joined Town for a club-record £1.3m a year ago, but he was ineligible for the FA Cup having already played for Bradford in the competition.”

“The 24-year-old, who has already notched a League Cup hat trick [at Chesterfield] for Town, fired in his tenth goal of the term to seal Sunday’s [Dec 28] 2-1 Championship win over Bolton Wanderers.

Now Reading are in his sights and Scannell said, “It doesn’t matter whether Nahki starts or comes on from the bench, he’ll always score goals.

“He’s one of the best strikers in the league and he thrives on the kind of service he got against Bolton.”

Nahki Wells and his Huddersfield Town teammates will take on Reading tomorrow [Jan 3] at 11.00am.
