Court Orders Man To Pay For Stolen Phone

Appearing in Magistrates Court this morning [Apr 23], a 26-year-old St George’s man who stole a cell phone from his ex girlfriend, was today ordered to pay full compensation.

Michael Wears, appeared in court today for trial after he previously pleaded guilty to stealing a woman’s Blu cell phone, worth $350.

Prosecutor Alan Richards today produced a receipt proving the stolen phone indeed belonged to the woman.

Magistrate Khamisi Tokunbo released Wears on a conditional discharge, and ordered that he pay $350 compensation to the court by May 8. The condition attached being that he must not commit an offence within those two weeks, or a conviction will be recorded against him.
