June 25, 2015

One of the most spectacular events of the Christmas holiday season will be making a return this year, with the Christmas Boat Parade set to take place in Hamilton Harbour at 6pm on Saturday December 12th,2015.

Now running as a biennial event, the organisers says the 2015 Boat Parade will be bigger and better than ever and themed around the America’s Cup.

“This is the biggest spectator event of the year” said Ms Norma Thomson, “and we will be inviting the America’s Cup teams that are based here, as well as the America’s Cup Event Authority [ACEA] and the America’s Cup Bermuda [ACBDA] to all enter boats in the parade. Plus there will be special prizes for the best America’s Cup boats entered by locals.

“Private boat owners, companies, charities and community groups are all being encouraged to enter boats in the parade. “We want to make sure as many people as possible are aware of the date of the parade as early as possible” Ms Thomson added.

“Getting boats to participate is always our most challenging task, but we hope that boat owners will make a special effort and come out and support the event by signing up through our website www.bermudaboatparade.bm.

“We are giving a $300 Lindos Gift Certificate to the first 30 boats that register, so there’s a really strong incentive to sign up early”.

The site is in major need of an upgrade, that should have been dealt with before promoting it.

Plenty of people here look forward to the event so good luck to everyone involved in making it a success.
