Robin Horsfield Finishes 11th At Canada Cup

July 15, 2015

On July 11, 15-year-old Robin Horsfield finished 11th in a field of 28 of Canada’s top cyclists in the U17 Expert Category at the mountain bike Canada Cup, held at Baie St. Paul, Quebec.

The young cyclist scored an impressive 91 of a possible 100 points.

This latest achievement marks yet another step in Horsfield’s overseas mountain bike development, following his seventh place finish in the Under 17 Expert category in the Ontario Cup Series at Albion Conservation Area north of Toronto, Ontario earlier this month.

Robin Horsfield Continues Overseas Development

Following his finish in Toronto, the cyclist cited stronger mental preparation and mountain bike specific workouts for his success, saying, “I’ve been working on faster starts to maintain contact with the pack as the starts are extremely fast in overseas competition.”

Horsfield’s July 2015 showings join his 2013 and 2014 Ontario Cup and Canada Cup efforts in which he garnered enough points to qualify to compete against Canada’s best as an Expert Class rider.
