Football: Premier, First Division Weekend Results

The Young Men Social Club, North Village Rams, and Robin Hood all walked away with wins in this weekend’s Premier Division and First Division football action.

First Division: St. George’s Colts 0 – Young Men Social Club 2

After a scoreless first half, visiting Young Men Social Club would make the home team St. George’s Colts rue missing early chances as they came away with all three points. Clay Darrell scored what proved to be the winner in the 80th minute and then Raymond Burgess doubled the lead with Young Men Social Club winning 2 – 0.

Premier Division: North Village Rams 3 – Hamilton Parish 1

At Bernard Park, the North Village Rams came from behind to defeat Hamilton Parish 3 – 1. Donovan Thompson stunned the home team with a goal for Hamilton Parish in the 2nd minute, it would take the North Village Rams until the 41st minute to draw level when Jahron Dickinson equalized.

The North Village Rams would take the lead in the 75th minute through a Nacori Smith goal, and when Keishan Bean found the back of the net in the 90th minute it secured all three points for the North Village Rams.

Premier Division: Boulevard Blazers 0 – Robin Hood 2

At Police Field this game saw two of almost everything – two goals, two sending offs and two penalty saves.

Robin Hood went ahead in the third minute when Nathan Peskett scored from the edge of the box, six minutes later the Boulevard Blazers were reduced to 10 men when Lejuan Simmons was brought down in the box.

Antwan Russell had his penalty saved by the Boulevard Blazers goalkeeper going to his left. Boulevard Blazers then won a penalty, which Jason Simons saved.

The second half saw Simons score, and Peskett received his marching orders as Robin Hood came away with the 2 – 0 win.
