New Year’s Eve Party Set For Court Street

December 30, 2015

The Uptown New Year’s Eve Party — with a theme of “unity in the community world vibe, fighting with peace and not for it” – will take place tomorrow evening [Dec 31] on Court Street in North Hamilton from 9.00pm through 1.00am, featuring “Bermuda at its best”.

The announcement said, “The Emperial Group of Companies is pleased to announce an UpTown New Year’s Eve block party on Court Street in North Hamilton. This event will serve as the launch of a collaborative effort to build the preconditions for sustained economic stimulus, community engagement and infrastructure development in North Hamilton.

“The event emerged from the recently concluded walkabout of North Hamilton requested by His Excellency the Governor the Right Honorable George Ferguson. The Governor worked very closely with the Grand Marshall of the Young Progressives, Cleveland Simmons, to ensure that the Mayor of Hamilton the Right Worshipful Charles Gosling, the Premier the Hon Michael Dunkley JP, MP and other invited dignitaries including the Opposition Leader the Hon Marc Bean JP, MP were notified of this request.

“In recognition of the increasing pressure for a “one city agenda” it was decided to focus on working within North Hamilton to create the grassroots preconditions for national unity.

I’m proud to say that 2016 is the right time for North Hamilton to take Bermuda to the next level. I invite everyone to get onboard and would personally like to thank the Governor for inspiring this event.”

The event will take place on Thursday, December 31st from 9pm – 1am and Court Street will be closed from Ewing Street to Victoria Street to facilitate the activities involved.
