Sousa’s Gardens To Host Second Free Workshop

January 18, 2016

Sousa’s Gardens held its first free gardening workshop on Sunday [Jan 17], with approximately 125 – 150 participants attending the “How to Grow Your Own Vegetables and Fruits” session.

Company President and Founder, Jeff Sousa, who was also the presenter said, “Given the amount of engagement received via our Facebook page once announcing this initiative, we expected a good crowd.

“However, after witnessing the turnout, it was pleasing to see how many people really want to grow their own produce in 2016. What was most touching, was seeing entire families, fathers and daughters, and friends come together – young and old!”

Yesterday’s session provided a great deal of information on growing vegetables both in the ground, as well as in containers. Details ranged from sharing the benefits of growing your own produce to choosing the perfect site – one with maximum, full sunlight protected from salt spray was recommended.

Mr Sousa added, “We kept the session informal and encouraged questions to ensure folks were able to get home and put any learning to use. The feedback received was encouraging and has confirmed our commitment to give back to the community and continue these free workshops in February.

Sousa’s Gardens will host a second workshop this Saturday, January 23, 2016, at 10am for those who may have missed yesterday’s workshop. Anyone interested in attending is encouraged to confirm participation via the company’s Facebook page.
