Sunday January 17th: “Good News” Spotlight
News that the Kiwanis Club donated $21,000 toward a new incubator for KEMH’s Special Care Baby Unit, a series of events will aim to “keep Bermuda’s culture alive,” free tickets are available to the upcoming Bob Marley tribute concert, and Bermuda striker Nahki Wells scored a goal in a 5-0 Huddersfield win and also earned praise from legendary footballer Shaun Goater were all some of the positive news stories from the past week.
In other good news, the YouthNet Raffle is offering $50,000 in prizes, Northshore Medical and Aesthetic Centre welcomed rheumatology expert Dr. Viviane Bunin, and Sousa’s Gardens offered two free workshops entitled “How to Grow Your Own Vegetables and Fruits.”
Additional good news stories included the Goslings To Fairmont Southampton Race being held, Djair Parfitt-Williams scoring in a 3-2 West Ham win, Harneys adding five lawyers to its growing Bermuda practice, and personal trainer Cervio Cox’s story showing that “attitude determines where you will go in life.”
We also posted various community photo galleries, including coverage of the Netball Unity and Who’s Who Tournament, the Best of Three Stakes harness pony race, cyclocross racing in Warwick, the Goslings to Fairmont race, a BNAA track meet, George Duckett Memorial Rugby and the Bermuda Race Weekend.
