  1. Raymond Ray says:

After so many gun incidences in the area wouldn’t one think there are cameras in the place to keep an eye on some of the ignorance?

    • Its me again says:

You have got to be one of the dumbest posters on bernews.

Southampton rangers has many cameras thats how the police have a description of the shooters…

You make some pretty dumb remarks….

      • Raymond Ray says:

First of all, there’s NO discription of the shooter. What they do have is an appeal to the public for, “Police are now conducting an investigation into the incident and are appealing for anyone who may have seen two males on a motorcycle wearing dark coloured clothing discharging a firearm and then leaving in westerly direction to contact the police on 295-0011 or the anonymous and confidential Crimestoppers hotline on 800 8477.” Had they a cammera views / pictures then can post them.

    • Onion Juice says:

No worries, our new Robo Cop minister will stop it.

  2. Someone says:

First off I want to say that I am DISGUSTED with the BPS and everyone can come on here praising them…they dont do S***. I’ll explain why….not 1 officer came n asked the Bartender(s) for ANY information Nor did they search anywhere but the yard for shells/clues whateva. They allowed every party to leave that scene yet they want praise?! 1 car n 2 officers FOR A SHOOTING?!! But I guess no1 died so its ok. I am DISGUSTED AND APPALLED n its time to pull up your socks because GUN VIOLENCE IS REAL! Illegal or not n im legit SICK by how this was handled tonight. Dont @ talkin SH!% serz bcuz u werent there n u havent lost a friend or FIVE to this crap

    • Whimsical says:

Someone……I understand your passion and judging by your account I’d agree with you that the crime scene was poorly handled……If you were there maybe you are just the person that the police need to speak to as I am made to understand that there were others who may have seen the individual before he started shooting and KNEW (because of vibe) that something was going to pop off….

    • Jus' Wonderin' says:

And at the end of the day I feel sorry for the clubs…they don’t deserve this and it hurts the clubs bad! STOP THE DUMB ****!

  3. neutral says:

Who is the OBA gonna blame now? When they wasn’t in power, they had all sorts of ways to combat crime.

I guess that was all Hocus pokus!!

    • mhm right says:

It is absurd to think that crime can be 100% eliminated. The OBA has made efforts to combat crime but it will take more than government legislation to do so. This is a community matter and the government is only one of the parties involved.

      • Cp says:

Why not start with the dismantling of those two massive high schools that were set up in Bermuda years ago called Cedarbridge and Berkeley and put those kids into high schools island wide like in the olden days. This would also mean getting rid of the Middle School concept. The lumping of e thousands of students into those two huge schools is obviously were the problem has started. The Mega School concept has proven to be a disaster in other countries and in Bermuda an equal disaster. The old system although not perfect worked way better than the one we have now.

        • Awesome says:

I, and many many others agree. We can’t really dismantle them, but those two schools could become large schools like Somersfield, MSA, Saltus, BHS and Bermmuda High that house all years from kinder garden thru high school.

    • James says:

LOL when the PLP was in charge the OBA Clowns told the vpters it was the PLP fault.

Now the OBA is in charge saying it’s a community matter. Talk about shifting the goal post.

      • Onion Juice says:

LMFAO, like when things went wrong it was de ministers fault, now its Civil Servants, and some fools are still hoodwinked.

    • PhD. says:

“Who is the OBA gonna blame now” you ask? Gee…I dunno…how about the cowards who pulled the trigger? How about the people that are out there shooting each other? And how about the friends and family members that protect them?

  4. Sick & Tired says:

I am sick and tired of these punks. You are really ruining our beautiful island. Something needs to be done to take these idiot….yes I said it idiot!of our streets. Their mentality is as small as a pea. Why don’t they just channel their anger into something positive. Think about your children and their future. If you idiots keep it up your children won’t have a future here. Just stop the madness and grow the hell up it needs to stop and stop immediately. They are going to wait until a little child or somebody grandparents/parents are gunned down by a mistake. Bermuda we need a clean sweep. We need eye’s in the sky to catch these individual (punks) and put them away. Maybe we could but them all on a small island in the middle of nowhere when they do get caught so they could not live the life of luxury at our hotel in Dockyard.

    • Its me again says:

      A. There is already no future for them or their children, if you havant noticed it hasnt been roses recently economically

      B. Put them on an island somewhere? Great idea you should run for parliment and NO ONE would vote for you.

      C. Eye in the sky? So 24 hour satilite surveillance? Lets ask uncle bob for that…. uncle bob says money dont grow on trees.

      D. Someones parents have already been mistakenly shot. A few have been mistakenly shot.

      E. Have u been to westgate?

      F. Just the shootings are ruining our island? Not our racism, no jobs, poor education and pollution, just shootings.

      Wowsers

      • SMDH says:

a/you are blaming the economy for people shooting at each other? please do explain.

        • Blind Sheep says:

If you are asking that. You have not struggled or made sacrifices a day in your life.

          • Really? 99.9% of people who have struggled and sacrificed DO NOT shoot at others! Stop making dumb excuses for those who choose to commit these horrific acts. And I have struggled and sacrificed.

          • PhD. says:

Err, excuse me but many of us have struggled. Ask me how many people I have gunned down and murdered?

            • Blind Sheep says:

Once again me me me me me me. Stop lookin at your self and look at the big pitcure.

  5. BLIND SHEEP says:

Let pray about it! That seems to be ******* working.

    • Its me again says:

In the name of (insert deity here) end this (insert problem here).

      Random babbling.

      Amen.

  6. OBSERVER says:

This is preposterous. One horror after another. Be smart, guys, stop the gunfire. Develop your other positive talents. They do exist.

  7. karen says:

When are these idiots going to stop? Cricket season has started and I’m enjoying going to watch my son play.:(

    • Its me again says:

      At midnight.

      Your son plays at midnight.

How do you draw a correlation between a late night shooting at a sports bar to daytime cricket matches…

      • mhm right says:

It is not the fact that someone plays cricket matches during the day and this shooting took place at night. It is the uneasiness and uncertainty of not knowing when an incident like this could occur. It could easily happen during the day at a child’s cricket match; the perpetrators of these crimes know no boundaries.

        • Its me again says:

Because shootings at cricket matches is a common thing huh?….

          Crickets…

  8. mmm says:

Friday nights are the start of the week-end, thus more people have money, more people are going to the nigh-club. I think there is a higher police pr esence , they just can,t be everywhere. More funds need to be raised for the police budget. The Regiment just returned from Jamaica, lets have them working alongside of the Police at vehicle road check-points.

    • Its me again says:

Or we could find the root of the problem be proactivce and fix it.

  9. Hot Button says:

If the person responsible for National Security is packing his bags and is about to complete his governance of Bermuda ,as Her Majesty’s Head of Security, (The Governor) and he has had 10 murders and many shootings under his watch, why is it that he has not been recalled by White Hall and why is it we have not called for his resignation as a first step?

    • concerned says:

Perhaps when families and neighbors spill the beans to the police about activities this nonsense will be eradicated. You hear it, see it, tell it. Save a child’s life by saving their father, dead beat or not, every life counts no matter where you live. Police are here to do just that but can’t if persons in the know won’t assist them. Get involved with our nursery and primary schools and after school programs to encourage our children in the way they should be going and to tach them that violence leads to long time incarceration and possibly death. I can’t recall if any of those incarcerated have ever been askedvduringvtheir court sessions why they committed the crime. Ufvthey have not been asked then it is time for it to be.

  10. Keepin' it Real!...4Real! says:

Why do you think people are being shot at..? IT’S A CONSEQUENCE for an action…but i notice there is NO CONSEQUENCE for the shooters action. Do you really think it’s because they don’t have jobs..? If you do then you’re as dumb as the concrete you’re standing on…smh.

YOU blame the Govt…and I blame YOU!!

  11. concerned says:

All establish!ents should have can!eras in and around property, communicate with Police when they are having functions and have security also plenty of outdoor lighting on porches, stairs and especially in parking lots.
