Jet Skier Transported To Hospital After Accident

An ambulance responded to a person spotted in the water after being injured during a jet ski tour on Sunday [July 24], with the patient successfully transported to hospital for treatment.

A Bermuda Maritime Operations Centre spokesperson said, “On Sunday, July 24 at 1.36pm, Bermuda Maritime Operations Centre was alerted by the Fisheries Patrol Vessel “Sentinel” that they had come upon a person in the water from a Jet Ski, having had an accident while on an organized Jet Ski tour and sustaining back injuries.

“The incident occurred in the vicinity of Boaz Island. Bermuda Radio coordinated the rendezvous with paramedics and an ambulance, with various parties assisting to ensure the patient was transferred ashore with as much care as possible, in an effort to avoid any further injury.

“By 2.20pm, the patient was on route to King Edward Memorial Hospital by ambulance for treatment.”
