Police Confirm: Man Dies Following Collision
[Updated: The police confirm that the "male motorcyclist was seriously hurt and subsequently succumbed to his injuries." ]
There are currently traffic delays in the east end due to collisions, with traffic backed up in the Causeway and Kindley Field areas.
One collision occurred on the Causeway, however apparently that scene has now been cleared, while another collision occurred in the Blue Hole Hill area, with the police saying “initial information suggests that it may be serious.”
At 4.55pm, a police spokesperson said, “A collision has been reported in the Blue Hole Hill, Hamilton parish area. Details are limited at this time. However, initial information suggests that it may be serious.
“Motorists are advised to avoid the area if possible until further notice and to expect delays in that vicinity.
“Please note that this is a different incident from the reported single vehicle crash that apparently occurred on the Causeway earlier this afternoon. That crash scene has since been cleared.”
Update 5.42pm: The police remain on scene, however traffic is now moving…one lane/direction only.
Update 6.20pm: Traffic is still very backed up, and police remain on scene, indicating that this, as the police already stated, is a serious collision. We are expecting to receive another official police statement later this evening and will update as able.
