Fairmont Celebrates Herbie Bascome’s 50 Years
Fairmont Southampton held a special surprise celebration breakfast in honour of Chef’s Herbie Bascome’s fifty years of service.
The event – which included the presentation of a plaque and a special renaming of the “Herbie Bascome Way” — was attended by a number of people, who came out to help celebrate Mr. Bascome’s decades of work in hotel kitchens, including more than 40 years at Fairmont Southampton.
Among those attending was Minister of Economic Development and Tourism Jamahl Simmons who said he was grateful for the opportunity to celebrate the career of Herbie Bascome, calling him a “trailblazer who has always encouraged young Bermudian to enter the industry and been a mentor to countless Bermudians in the industry.”
