March 23, 2019

The Bermuda Underwater Exploration Institute [BUEI] and Bermuda National Trust [BNT] will present a screening of “Project Wild Thing” on Thursday, March 28 at 7.30pm.

The event poster says, “David Bond Is an award-winning director, producer and writer of documentary, commercial and short film projects, exploring social and political themes. David’s acclaimed feature doc Erasing David [2010] was released in cinemas, shown on Channel 4 in the UK, and played on TV and at festivals around the world.

Trailer for Project Wild Thing:

“David Bond is concerned. His kids’ waking hours are dominated by a cacophony of marketing, and a screen dependence threatening to turn them into glassy-eyed zombies. Like city kids everywhere, they spend way too much time indoors. He decides it’s time to get back to nature. ..literally.

“In an attempt to compete with the brands, which take up a third of his daughter’s life, Bond appoints himself Marketing Director for Nature and sets about developing a campaign and a logo. With the help of a number of bemused professionals, he is soon selling Nature to British families. His humorous journey unearths some painful truths about modern family life. His product is free, plentiful and has proven benefits – but is Nature past its sell-by date?

“Ticket holders are entitled to 10% off dinner at the Harbourfront [food only] before or after the film. Please call 295-4207 for reservations and be sure to mention the film. Cannot be combined with any other special offers. Tickets are non-refundable within 24 hours of event.”

Tickets cost $20 for members, $25 for non-members and $12 for students, and are available by calling 294-0204 or visiting BUEI’s Oceans Gift Shop.
