The Bermuda National Athletics Association confirmed that another athlete reached the qualifying standard on the last day of qualification, bringing the total number of qualified track and field athletes to 19.

“We were waiting for the results of this event as Kiara Francis resides in the UK and this was her first outdoor meet of the season,” BNAA President Donna Raynor said.

“Kiara competed in the Notts AC Spring Outdoor meet on Sunday March 31st at Harvey Hadden Stadium in Nottingham. When Kiara is in Bermuda she trains with Coach Terry Lynn Paynter and she had no doubt that Kiara was going to meet the standard.

“Kiara tossed the shot put a distance of 12.0m with the qualification distance for the U20 girls is 11.90m.┬áThat now brings our final number to 19.”
