Eight People Arrested For Impaired Driving
Eight motorists were arrested for impaired driving offences over the holiday weekend, the police have confirmed.
A police spokesperson said, “Eight motorists were arrested for impaired driving offences over the National Heroes’ Day holiday weekend, with road sobriety checkpoints conducted in six parishes from the evening of Thursday, June 13th until the evening of Sunday, June 16th.
“There are no road sobriety checkpoints scheduled for this coming weekend. However, members of the public are urged not to drive, ride or operate a boat under the influence – for their own safety and that of all road users as well as those navigating our waters.”
If the police only got 8 people for impaired driving, they weren’t trying very hard.
the word SELECTIVEcomes to mind, I trust the cycle officer was tested. hav lost a lot od]f respect for this branch lately
I don’t understand why it would be stated when road sobriety test will or will not occur. These tests should be administered without notice and on a more frequent basis. Way too many people are impaired!!!
