Collision: Motorcyclist Injured, Driver Arrested
Emergency services responded to a collision early this morning [Sept 14] in Pembroke where a motorcyclist was injured and the driver of the car involved was arrested on suspicion of impaired driving, according to police.
A police spokesperson said, “Around 1:45am Saturday, September 14th a reported serious collision occurred at the junction of Cedar Avenue, St. John’s Road and Marsh Folly Road in Pembroke involving a car and a motorcyclist.
“Details remain limited at this time.
“However, it is understood that the rider involved, said to be a 29 year old Pembroke man, was transported to King Edward VII Memorial Hospital via ambulance for treatment of head injuries and serious injuries to both legs.
“The driver of the car, said to be a 34 year old Hamilton parish man, has been arrested on suspicion of impaired driving.
“Traffic diversions were in effect for approximately four hours while the scene was processed.
“Inquiries continue and any witnesses are encouraged to call the main police telephone number 295-0011 as soon as possible.”
