Karting: Scott Barnes Finishes 6th In Las Vegas
Scott Barnes recently concluded competing in the SuperKarts USA Super Nationals in Las Vegas.
Barnes advanced to Super Sunday in the G1/G2:3G Kart Racing/AiM Sports Class.
He finished sixth in a very close finish that could have seen any one of places third to seventh change in the end.
Mr. Barnes said, “I was so close to the podium, finished sixth on the bumper of third, fourth, fifth place karts podium spots – if there was just one more lap.
“I beat last year’s winner of this class, but came up just short of the podium. It was great being back racing at the top national level – I will definitely be back next year.
“I had a great week on track: three top nine finishes coming from the twelfth starting spot, no DNFs. I was able to learn this new motor fast and by the weekend I had the speed and lap times to run for a podium spot.”
