Photos & Results: Fat Tire National Museum Race

December 2, 2019

[Updated with photos] Over 90 cycling enthusiasts signed up for the Fat Tire Massive Race, which was held this weekend at the National Museum of Bermuda [NMB].

A spokesperson said, “The second venue for our Mountain Bike series was a rare chance to explore the grounds of NMB, including Casemates Barracks and Commissioner’s House. Ninety-one enthusiasts signed up with an age range from four to sixty plus.

“The course winds through the actual insides of the Casemates Barracks, along the NW Ramparts and around the entire top defense line surrounding Commissioners’ House. Despite the challenge from the lone gravel bike, the day was lovely with only a couple of passing showers.

“In the Open 60 class, 33 men and one woman took to the field. Nic Narraway, one of the top racers on both MTB and Road Bikes, made an aggressive start and was soon in his own race with time to spare.

“Behind him a strong group of young athletes including Liam, Cameron, Alex, Moses, and Liam battled for the remaining podium spots. After the dust settled, Nic took the win, with Alexander Miller second and Liam Flannery third.
