Junior Basketball League To Start In Bermuda
Wolfpack Hoops will be launching a junior basketball league in Bermuda, and registration for the league is now open to all boys and girls ages 7 to 15.
A spokesperson said, “Wolfpack Hoops has announced the first ever Jr NBA basketball league to be held in Bermuda. Registration for the league is now open to all boys and girls ages 7 to 15.
“The Jr NBA league will allow young players the opportunity to represent different NBA teams while they play in a developmental league, gaining valuable experience on the court. Players can play for the Lakers, Sixers, Celtics, or Warriors.
“Wolfpack has had a history of working with the NBA on various initiatives. Charles Peters, founder of Wolfpack shared, ‘We started working with the NBA in 2014 with the NBA Jumpstart program that had several boys and girls from Bermuda compete with young players from across the Caribbean.
“With the success we had in that relationship, the seeds were planted for us to become an official Jr NBA program. Wolfpack has now grown to become an international program with locations in Bermuda, Philadelphia, and Atlanta and we are currently running Jr NBA programs in multiple cities.’
“Jason Lowe is the commissioner of the Jr NBA league to launch in Bermuda.
“The goal of the Jr. NBA is to teach the fundamentals and values of basketball at the grassroots level to grow and improve the game for boys and girls. It is our hope to positively impact youth basketball while helping to instill core values such as teamwork, respect, determination and community in young players.”, said Coach Lowe
“The program kicks off on Saturday, January 10th with our Jr. NBA Skills Clinic featuring some of the best trainers in the area.
“Registration begins at 12:30pm at MSA Gymnasium. Due to overwhelming demand for the program which is likely to sell out, training for the skills clinic has been split by age group as follows:
- “Ages 6 to 9 – 12:45pm to 2:30pm
- “Ages 10 to 14 – 6:15pm to 9pm
