Video: Sunday March 1st ‘Good News’ Spotlight
News that the Hamilton Princess is opening the Duchess Café and Gelateria creating four new jobs at the resort, students said ‘thank you’ to bus drivers, Shiona Turini styled Kerry Washington for Variety magazine, and the Bermuda Girl Guide Thinking Day Service was held were all some of the positive news stories from the past week.
In additional good news, Tiara DeRosa won the shot put event at the SWAC Championships in Alabama, Elijah Daley won multiple medals in Canada, Paget Primary staged their own Black History Museum, and Fairmont Southampton achieving Planet 21 Gold Level thanks to their efforts to make the hotel and the guest experiences offered more sustainable, along with their environmental work within the community.
More good news included the Foreign Language Department of CedarBridge Academy holding its inaugural miniature carnival, James Stout and partner Yvain Badan winning a Brooklyn tournament, BHS middle school students visiting the NASA Space Center in Houston, and Bermuda track athletes continuing to shine overseas.
