Ascendant Donates $100,000 To Eliza DoLittle

April 6, 2020

Ascendant Group is donating $100,000 to The Eliza DoLittle Society to help bring some relief to those affected by the coronavirus pandemic.

An Ascendant spokesman said: “Ascendant has a long and proud history of philanthropy in Bermuda. During these unprecedented times, as Bermuda contends with the coronavirus, our charities committee met to determine what would have the greatest impact on those most affected by this crisis.

“What is clear is that, with people having been furloughed or laid off and not working, many Bermudians are struggling to put food on the table. The Eliza DoLittle society runs a food bank that provides food for the needy – literally a lifeline for those in need in our community. We are honoured and humbled to partner with Eliza DoLittle to help bring some relief to those most affected by the coronavirus.”

April Augustus, Executive Director of Eliza DoLittle said: “I was literally speechless when I was contacted about this incredibly generous donation from Ascendant. This money will provide food for many of our most needy families across the island.

“In the last few weeks we have certainly seen an increase in clients in need, especially single mothers who are struggling to provide food for their children. On behalf of our staff, board members and especially our clients, many thanks to Ascendant for this incredible contribution that will make a huge impact in people’s lives today and for as long as this crisis continues.”
