F.A.Q.
Can we exchange links/can you link my website?
Sorry, but due to the volume requests of recieved, we never exchange links or add links to stories by request. However should your non-profit website be pertinent to a story we are carrying, please feel free to leave the URL in the comment field.
-
Is my email private when I leave a comment?
Your email will not be published, but it is visible to the staff. A ‘real’ email address is not required to post however, as long as the field is filled out the comment will be submitted
-
Can you add my story/event to your Facebook page please?
Although we will at times post events and news for charitable organizations at our own discretion, we generally don’t honour requests to post specific items on our Facebook page. Should you be promoting a charity, sports event, locally made music video or any other non-commercial matter, you are more then welcome to post it on our Facebook page yourself. We would appreciate it if businesses refrained from posting unpaid commercial ads on our Facebook page, and instead contact us to inquire about advertising.
-
I have news/press release, can I submit it?
Yes! Please do, we would love to hear from you. All press releases must be submitted electronically via email to info@bernews.com, we are unable to accept them via any other method.
-
The videos play so slow, is there anything I can do ?
Yes, there is. The rate the videos play is dependent on your internet connection not our website. A simple little ‘trick’ you can do is pause the video for a few minutes and let it load prior to viewing it.
-
I noticed an error on this site [factual, broken link etc]
Okay, that’s embarrassing for us! Please contact us and report any errors of any kind.
-
Some of your pages load kind of slow?
Trust us, we know and do apologize for it. It’s unfortunately rather unavoidable due to the sheer volume of multimedia content. For example, if we have a 150 page e-book and 10 video links on a page – it will simply load slower then a website page with nothing but text. We do run a cache system to maximise website speed, and do all we can do improve it. You will notice the second time you load a page, it is considerably quicker then the initial load.
-
Do you have any jobs available?
Unfortunately no. We are still a fairly new business and are not in the position to hire any additional staff at this time.
-
Can I advertise on Bernews?
If you are interested in advertising with us, we would be more than pleased to hear from you. Please email us at: advertising@bernews.com.

You forgot <insert name here> on the Bermudian profiles!
Most likely we did not “forget” anyone, we simply were unable to do it, plan to do it in the future, or have no intentions of including them. As our website focuses on bringing Bermudian content in a multimedia format, for us to do a profile we need access to such content; video, audio or photos, and of course we need material we are legally able to use. Many times it is easier said then done to obtain such items – particularly in the case of older Bermudians. Due to the high volume of emails received pertaining to being including in the profiles, we do not accept requests for profile inclusions, and respectfully request that people refrain from email us requesting that they or their family members be added. .
