Simon Payne

Cementing his place in local sporting history; Simon Payne was the first Olympian to ever represent Bermuda in a Winter Olympics.

He competed in the luge event in 1992 Winter Olympics in Albertville, France and the 1994 Winter Olympics in Lillehammer.

Mr. Payne founded the Bermuda Luge Federation, and assisted Patrick Singleton in his Olympic endeavors.

Following in his family’s footsteps, he is the son of Jeff Payne, who represented Bermuda in the 1968 Summer Olympics in Mexico, competing in the Men’s 1,500 metres.
