Bermuda Police: Two “Sudden Deaths”

The Bermuda Police have announced the “sudden death” of a 38 year old Smiths Parish man and a 55 year old Devonshire man.  The 55 year old man was found unresponsive in Tee Street, Devonshire, and was declared dead at 10:10am. Their full statement in reference to the Smiths man follows below:

Around 10:40am today, Police received a report of a sudden death in the Verdmont Valley Close, Smith’s Parish area. Officers attended the scene a short time later.

The body of the victim, believed to be a 38 year old Smith’s Parish man, was pronounced dead by an on call physician at the scene at 12:05pm.

It appears that the body had been there for some time before being discovered by a member of the public.

No further information will be released until the next of kin have been notified.

  • The Devonshire man has been identified as Peter Mitchell, a partner at PricewaterhouseCooper.
  • The Smiths man has been identified as 38 year old Shawn Woolridge.
