Early Today: CCTV Footage Helps Catch Suspects

714277_cctv_cameraWith the assistance of footage from CCTV cameras, the Bermuda Police captured two suspects this morning, resulting in their arrests and the recovery of a stolen item.

At approximately 3:10am this morning, a couple were sitting on a bench across from the Emporium Building on Front Street, Hamilton when they were accosted by two men, one brandishing a bladed article.

The culprits took the lady’s handbag and escaped on foot before fleeing the scene in a car.

The victims, a 25 year old Paget man and a 24 year old British female visitor, received minor injuries during the incident.

The police immediately searched the area for the suspects, and with the assistance of CCTV footage located the suspect’s vehicle outside the Pembroke Community Club.

As a result the suspects [a 19 year old Devonshire man and a 25 year old Warwick man] were arrested, and the female visitor’s handbag was recovered.
