Free Concerts: Grammy Award Winning Artists

Locals will have the opportunity to see two Grammy award winning Latin artists in concert from July 7 to 17, at the Lido Complex at Elbow Beach Hotel, which will feature Cuban Guitarist David Oquendo and Puerto Rican percussionist Willy Torres. Also featured will be Bermuda’s own guitarist Armando Solis. Below David Oquendo performs Fiebre de Ti at ‘Amor Cubano’ in New York in 2009:

David Oquendo was born in Havana, Cuba in 1958 and started playing the guitar when he was 12 years old. He won a Grammy for the album “Tropicana’s Nights”, and has four Grammy nominations. Willy Torres was born in Trujillo Alto, Puerto Rico in 1975 and began singing at the age of four. He was part of group ‘Spanish Harlem Orchestra’, which won a Grammy in 2004 for their album ‘Across 110th Street’.

The Live Latin music will run from 7pm – 11pm each night. The concerts are free to attend. The poster is below, click to enlarge to full size:
