Woman’s BlackBerry Stolen At Knifepoint

blackberryA 37-year-old female had her BlackBerry phone stolen after a knife-wielding man demanded it while she was walking along the Railway Trail in Paget. Fortunately, the victim was not injured.

The Police say that it appears that around 11:30am on Wednesday July 28th, the woman, a resident of Warwick, was walking west along the Railway Trail in Paget near the junction with Ord Road when she was accosted by a man who was also walking in the area.

The suspect brandished what the Police term a “bladed article“ and demanded the victim’s BlackBerry phone, which she gave him. The suspect then fled on foot heading east along the Railway Trail.

The suspect was described as a brown skinned male, approximately 5’9” – 6’ tall weighing around 165 pounds wearing a white T-shirt and basketball shorts.

Police state that inquiries are underway, and they are appealing for any witnesses to this incident or anyone with any information to contact the Hamilton Criminal Investigation Unit on 295-0011.
